EDUCATION

EDUCATION
There are three methods of fulfilling the educational component to become a Registered Art Therapist (ATR):
  • If you have a BA in a related field, contact an accredited art therapy program to find out enrollment requirements. You can check out nationwide programs through the AATA Approved Education Programs listing.
  • The ATCB has made some changes concerning registration and course requirements.  With the new registration specifications (mainly option C), it is now possible to complete all of the required course work and practicum within Minnesota.  The ATCB said that it is now acceptable to complete the core curriculum through independent study at an institution that is not recognized as a certification program.  Furthermore, those 24 credits can now be included in a masters program instead of having to be 'in addition to'. For further information, here's a link to their website:  www.atcb.org/optionC.htm
